The Tour
Embark on a definitive exploration of France’s most storied wine regions with a Burgundy day trip with 10 wine tastings departing from the historic center of Beaune. This full-day odyssey is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the “Champs-Élysées” of Burgundy, taking you through the legendary appellations of the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Traveling in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, you will traverse the scenic Route des Grands Crus, where centuries of history and unique geology combine to produce the world’s most sought-after Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
The morning segment of your journey focuses on the Côte de Beaune, an area celebrated for its elegant and complex white wines. You will stop at a prestigious local domain to go behind the scenes of a working winery. Here, you will learn about the meticulous vineyard management and the traditional vinification techniques that define the region. The visit culminates in a guided tasting of the estate’s production, allowing you to experience firsthand the influence of different terroirs on the finished wine. Along the way, you will visit iconic spots like the hill of Corton, famous for its rare red and white Grand Crus.
After a flexible lunch break in the heart of the vineyards or a local village, the tour transitions to the Côte de Nuits, the spiritual home of Burgundy’s great red wines. No Burgundy day trip with 10 wine tastings would be complete without a pilgrimage to the most famous vineyard on earth: Romanée-Conti. You will have the opportunity to stand before this hallowed ground and discuss why these few acres of Pinot Noir command such global reverence. Your guide will also lead you to the historic Clos de Vougeot, where the Cistercian monks first began classifying the climats of Burgundy nearly a thousand years ago.
The afternoon features a second extensive tasting session at another hand-selected domain. This deep dive into the local cellars offers a contrast in styles and techniques, helping you to refine your palate and understand the nuances between Village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru classifications. By the end of the day, you will have sampled at least 10 distinct wines, ranging from crisp Aligoté to powerful Gevrey-Chambertin.
This small-group experience, limited to just eight participants, ensures a personalized and interactive atmosphere. Your expert guide—a true connoisseur of the region—will share insider stories of the families and traditions that keep the Burgundian spirit alive. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a returning enthusiast, this Burgundy day trip with 10 wine tastings offers a seamless, educational, and deeply enjoyable encounter with the soul of French viticulture.

July 21, 2025 at 4:02 amEmmanuel has a great understanding of Burgundian food and wine. He has great enthusiasm for his subject and gets everyone excited. We had people on our tour with great differences in exposure to fine wine, yet everyone enjoyed the tour.

July 6, 2025 at 7:48 pmEmmanuel was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The trip was advertised as including tasting 14 different wines but in fact we tasted 26 wines in 3 different venues. The wines included several Premier Crus and 2 Grand Crus! A particular highlight was our visit to the Senard family vineyard in near Aloxe-Corton with its beautiful views over the vineyards. There we were hosted by the delightfully young and enthusiastic Enzo Dotto who was extremely friendly and informative. He took us on a tour of the old family cellar and conducted a fascinating tasting of a variety of white and red Senard wines. Emmanuel was happy to go the extra mile dropping off our guests at their train stations and hotels. All in all a very enjoyable day and highly recommended.

June 26, 2025 at 7:03 pmOur tour guide with France Intense Elite was absolutely incredible. She was very knowledgeable and personable. She went above and beyond to ensure our experience was comfortable and safe. Lunch was had at a small village restaurant where she helped us in choosing an amazing meal. She even drove us to a closer train station so that we could take a train back to Dijon, going so far as to make sure we were at the right track. We would definitely book with this tour again. Thank you for such an incredible day.

June 14, 2025 at 4:51 pmI really like our guide Emmenuel. He has been working in the wine industry and has lots of knowledge to share with us. The visit to Aloxe-Corton’s Chateau Corton wine cellar was enjoyable. Drinking in the cellar built in 15th century was spectacular. The place offered good prices for bottles of the own. Their grand crus were around 120 euro with VAT. Tip: bring a Bourgogne map with you for easier understanding
