This tour will take you through two emblematic areas. The Beaujolais region, world-famous for its wines, also boasts many beautiful castles, while the Dombes region, known for its ponds, offers a historical and gourmet escape to the medieval village of Perouges.
Starting from Lyon, head north to Beaujolais. Your morning will begin with a visit to a prestigious estate, perfect for understanding the region’s heritage and wines. After panoramic views from Mont Brouilly, explore the Château de La Chaize, the “Versailles of Beaujolais,” its gardens, and the longest cellar in Beaujolais. Enjoy a fabulous tasting of red and white wines.
After a free lunch in Beaujolais, continue to Perouges, a picturesque medieval village. Take a break at a 13th-century inn to taste the secret recipe “Galette.” Wander through the village’s cobblestone streets before returning to Lyon.

June 6, 2025 at 11:42 amI took the trip on July 17, 2025. It was a trip where I saw beautiful places and learned a lot about the Beaujolais wine region and the history and culture of France. The guide was pleasant, very knowledgeable, and talkative. I would recommend this activity to visitors to Lyon

March 2, 2025 at 11:43 amThe intimacy of the small group ( we were 5) and the attention to detail by Clotilde our excellent guide. The drive was informative and tailored to our needs. We would have also liked some nibbles to accompany the wine tasting. just to line our stomachs at 11am!! A suggestion for improvement would be to enquire at a small restaurant en route that you could call on to arrange for lunch. We ate in Franche Ville which was fine but it took longer to be served than expected. Thanks again to Clotilde for her understanding and adapting to all eventualities.
