The Tour
During this Bordeaux tour, you’ll visit two wineries, chateau la Croizille and chateau Tour Baladoz, with distinct winemaking approaches. First, explore chateau Tour Baladoz, a traditional winery with an authentic cellar and classic Saint-Émilion architecture, where wine is crafted in the region’s traditional style.
Château Tour Baladoz produces wines under the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AOC. Importantly, it was officially classified as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in the 2022 Saint-Émilion classification, recognizing its consistent quality and elegance over decades. This is a significant achievement and places it among the top tier of Saint-Émilion estates.

The estate is an ancient one, with winemaking roots dating back to 1830. Unlike the modern architectural approach of its sister property Château La Croizille, Tour Baladoz represents a more traditional Bordeaux style, both in its winemaking and its charming classic cellars. This offers a nice contrast and complement to the family’s overall vision. The winemaking at Tour Baladoz employs traditional methods with a focus on respecting the fruit and terroir.

Next, discover a modern winery that uses cutting-edge technology to innovate and refine the winemaking process, creating a contemporary style of wine. Château La Croizille is a distinctive and highly-regarded wine estate located in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation of Bordeaux, France. It’s particularly known for its blend of historical roots with a striking modern approach to winemaking and architecture. Château La Croizille is situated on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, specifically in the commune of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, within the renowned Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. It’s just a short distance from the famous medieval village of Saint-Émilion. Its vineyards are on a hill with a superb panoramic view, facing east/southeast
La Croizille has focused on striking and technologically advanced new cellar, which was inaugurated in 2012. This modern facility allows for gravity-fed winemaking and precise control over the vinification process, aiming to extract the best from the grapes while maintaining their unique personality. The design of the new chai is inspired by the clay and limestone terroir.
You’ll learn about each stage of winemaking, from the vines to the aging process. The tour concludes with a guided tasting of three Bordeaux wines, including Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, along with an introduction to wine-tasting techniques.

June 27, 2025 at 6:53 pmPleasant but very short when it comes to the visit. The wine tasting was satisfactory, I just didn’t think it was appropriate to include a wine produced in another region in the tasting. The guide was very friendly and competent

June 26, 2025 at 6:12 pmA very insightful and entertaining tour. Our tour guide Quentin was very knowledgeable and funny. We tasted two beautiful reds and a rose. There was also the option to buy a glass of wine to take around with you. The vineyard was a couple minutes drive from the scenic village of St Emillon. We will definitely be returning!
