The Tour
Experience the pinnacle of Bordeaux’s right-bank hospitality with an immersive visit to Château De Reignac. Nestled in Saint-Loubès, midway between Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion, this family-owned estate is a hidden jewel that has consistently redefined the standards of wine tourism. Recognized globally with multiple Gold “Best of Wine Tourism” awards, the property offers a rare blend of historical grandeur, architectural innovation, and world-class winemaking. This excursion is perfect for travelers who appreciate the “French art of living” and wish to discover an estate that rivals the most famous Classified Growths in quality and passion.

Your journey through the estate begins with a guided walk that highlights the property’s unique heritage. You will stroll past the historic 17th-century château and into its century-old parkland, where nature and architecture harmonize. A true highlight of the grounds is the exquisite greenhouse designed by Gustave Eiffel, an architectural gem that serves as a testament to the estate’s commitment to beauty and preservation. As you walk through the vineyards, your expert guide will explain the meticulous work performed under the rows of vines and the estate’s eco-certified practices, including the use of a natural bamboo forest for wastewater purification.
The tour then moves into the technical heart of the property. Château De Reignac is renowned for its innovative approach to vinification. You will visit the modern vat room and the barrel cellar, where you can see the unique Oxoline rotating frame system used for aging. Your guide will detail the “Vatelot method,” a patented technique used for the estate’s flagship wines that emphasizes precision and respect for the terroir. This insider’s look at the production process reveals why these wines have famously outperformed legendary labels in blind tastings.
The grand finale of your visit takes place in the “Tasting Tower,” a beautifully restored 16th-century dovecote. This panoramic tasting room offers a sophisticated and serene environment to sample the estate’s finest creations. During the prestige tasting, you will enjoy four iconic cuvées: the aromatic Reignac Blanc, the classic Château De Reignac, the powerful Grand Vin de Reignac, and the exceptional BALTHVS—a 100% Merlot wine produced from old vines. Guided by a professional, you will learn to identify the complex notes of dark fruit, spice, and silk-like tannins that characterize these high-altitude Bordeaux Supérieur wines. Whether you are a curious amateur or a seasoned collector, a visit to this estate offers a profound and authentic connection to the spirit of Bordeaux.

12 months agoWe did a wine tour here and really enjoyed it. The experience was well-organized and relaxing, with a great atmosphere throughout. The wines we tasted were delicious, and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great way to spend the day, and the price was very reasonable for what we got. Highly recommended for anyone looking to discover local wines in a fun and welcoming setting!

a year agoWe had a fantastic wine tour experience here, our host was very informative ( in English), he talked about the history, wine methods and the company ethics. The wine tasting room is an experience not to be missed in Bordeaux, all of the wine was amazing. 5 stars for both the venue and our host.

2 years agoWe had a pleasant experience visiting the château. Reinhard gave us a wonderfull tour explaining the wine making process as well as some informative details about the château and its owners who are trying to keep the soul of the winery in tact. We were able to enjoy the wine tasting in the garden. There’s also a nice shop so you can buy some wine to take homeward.

3 years agoWe booked a tour (with wine tasting) and a picnic lunch and had an AMAZING experience here!! Our guide was so informative and great with the children, she shared a lot of fun details and facts that set this chateau apart from the others we have visited. We loved the details in this chateau tour, and the wine tasting in the tower (which was once used to house pigeons). Our picnic lunch was outside next to the vines and it was such a surreal experience. The kids ran around while we enjoyed food and wine! I would definitely recommend this tour for others!
