It was formally established by Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti, an agronomist, who had a strong vision to revive and valorize the native Aglianico del Vulture grape and the unique volcanic terroir of Basilicata.

The soils here are primarily volcanic, rich in minerals, and well-draining. This volcanic terroir is crucial for the Aglianico grape, imparting a distinctive minerality, complexity, and longevity to the wines.
