Tenuta Torre Raone is a highly regarded winery located in the Abruzzo region of Italy, specifically in the commune of Loreto Aprutino, in the province of Pescara. Founded in 1997 by two friends, Luciano di Tizio (a farmer from Tollo) and Antonio d’Emilio (an agricultural expert), Torre Raone quickly committed to organic farming from its inception. Their vineyards and olive groves are certified organic by ICEA. Their philosophy centers on enhancing native grape varieties and respecting the natural products of the territory.
The “Torre” in “Torre Raone” refers to an ancient 11th-century Norman observation tower located on their land. This historical landmark adds a unique character and history to the estate. It was named after a famous Norman mercenary knight, Raone da Poliziano.
At a slow pace, we will visit the vineyards where the old tower dominates accompanied by a sommelier.
We will then move indoors to taste the result of so much care, aided by “finger food” such as cheeses, salami, homemade jam, etc.
The visit with tasting that we propose is called “A walk in the clouds” and includes 3 glasses: “pecorino” (white wine), “cerasuolo” (rosé wine) and “Montepulciano” (Red wine), organic expressions of their production, accompanied by homemade bread, oil, pecorino cheese and “scrucchiata” (grape jam organic montepulciano, of their own production).
The total duration of the visit is about 1h 30m
