Departing from Marseille to Avignon, first of all, you begin by walking the streets of Châteauneuf-du-Pape adorned with fountains and up to the castle built by Pope John XXII. The AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the greatest French wines and an iconic wine of the southern Rhone Valley region.
Next, you will visit a wine museum which displays an interesting and large collection of tools used in wine making dating back to the sixteenth century. Then you will visit wineriesof the region and taste several wines from the Rhone valley.
You will visit Gigondas, famous village for his organic wine, classified in Côtes-du-Rhône Villages. Gigondas has also a real Provençal atmosphere with ites old facades and wineries to transport you in picturesque provencal countryside.
Finally, you will go to Séguret, one of the most beautiful villages of France. At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail massif, overlooking the Rhône valley in a landscape of vineyards, Séguret is dominated by the tower of its former medieval castle. As you follow the marked tour through the village, you will discover the Reynier gate, a remnant of the fortifications, the Mascarons fountain, the washhouse and the belfry, as well as the Romanesque church of Saint-Denis…
