Discover the Heart of Barolo: An Exclusive Castiglione Falletto Barolo Chinato Olive Oil Tasting Experience
The tour

Discover the essence of the Langhe region with an immersive journey through the heart of Monforte d’Alba. This historic village, recognized as one of the most beautiful in Italy, serves as the perfect backdrop for a deep dive into the world of Barolo and the authentic traditions of Piedmontese winemaking. Your experience begins at the Agriturismo La Torricella, the home of Diego Pressenda wines, where the passion for the land is passed down through generations.
Monforte d’Alba is renowned for its unique terroir, characterized by ancient Helvetian soils that grant the wines an extraordinary structure and longevity. To truly understand these prestigious labels, you will start with a relaxing walk through the estate’s lush vineyards. As you breathe in the fresh hillsides air, you will observe the Dolcetto and Nebbiolo vines that cling to these steep slopes. The guided walk is not just a stroll but an educational moment where the relationship between the soil, the microclimate, and the plant is explained in detail, showing why Monforte d’Alba remains a cornerstone of the Barolo production zone.
The journey continues from the sun-drenched fields to the cool, quiet atmosphere of the underground winery. Within these walls, the magic of fermentation and aging takes place. You will explore the different sections of the cellar, from the stainless steel tanks used for fresh whites and young reds to the traditional large oak barrels where the King of Wines, Barolo, rests for years to achieve its complex aromatic profile. The guided tour offers a rare glimpse into the technical precision and artistic intuition required by the Pressenda family to transform grapes into world-class wine.

No visit to Monforte d’Alba would be complete without a sit-down tasting that engages all the senses. After the tour, you will be guided through a selection of three distinct wines that represent the diversity of the estate. The highlight of the flight is undoubtedly the Barolo, a wine of great power and elegance. To enhance the tasting, the wines are thoughtfully paired with a selection of local Langhe specialties. You will savor authentic Piedmontese hazelnuts, renowned for their crunch and aroma, alongside artisanal cheeses and traditional charcuterie. These pairings are designed to highlight the tannins and acidity of the wines, providing a true farm-to-table experience that reflects the gastronomic richness of the region.
Whether you are a seasoned collector or a curious traveler, this winery visit in Monforte d’Alba offers an intimate connection with the land. The hospitality of Diego Pressenda’s team ensures a warm atmosphere where every question is answered and every glass tells a story. From the panoramic views of the UNESCO-listed hills to the deep flavors of the cellar, this tour encapsulates the spirit of Piedmont.

2 months agoThis place is really a good find. The team is very nice and welcoming. The view is amazing, from the wineyards and small villages to the snowy Alps. A perfect place. We were just passing one nigth but we feel this place can be a place where you can stay and go all around the place from here. The rooms have this antique 'farm' look, but are confortable ; ours had a balcony with an amazing view. Very good breakfast with homemade bread. The price is really good for what you get. The restaurant is amazing. The Pergola is an amazing building with a out of the world view. Then you have the meal. Perfection is here. The finesse, the smells, the taste... We took the antipasti 3 samples so we could taste more of their cuisine : wow! I can't wait to come back! The only drawback if the road surface next to it is rather noisy ; they should ask the mayor for a better quality of surfacing next time.

6 months agoWe had such a wonderful stay here! We spent three nights, including a New Year’s celebration, and everything exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional throughout our stay. The restaurant food and breakfasts were all delicious, with great and attentive service. The winery itself is modern, spotless, and very well organized. Honestly, it was one of the most detailed and well-conducted winery tours I’ve ever experienced. The wine selection is great, especially the red wines. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were always present and working hard to ensure that every guest had a great experience. The staff in general is very professional, well prepared, and kind. The New Year’s celebration was simply amazing: live music, outstanding food and wines during dinner, a wonderful atmosphere, followed by fireworks and an after-party. We truly did not expect such a high-level, luxurious celebration with so much included for such a reasonable price. We stayed in the same building as the restaurant, yet it was always calm and relaxing once upstairs. We will definitely be back!

a year agoStunning location and food. I was lucky enough to spend a wonderful evening here with friends. La Torricelli lies in the heart of wine country in Piedmont, home to Barolo and Barbaresco wines, wonderful countryside and amazing food. Arriving for dinner at 8pm the warm evening enhanced the incredible views from the restaurant across the vineyards and hills of the area. The restaurant is a modern glass-walled structure on the edge of the property, giving the most incredible vistas. Service was exceptional, the waiters all well trained, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the food…. Well, it was exceptional. Antipasti of a trio of local delicacies for me, including a beef tartare to die for, were followed by primo and secondo courses of gnocchi and slow cooked veal. Three course for €50 of this quality is exceptional value. And the wine offerings we chose came from vineyards we could practically touch from our table! Now there are many lovely places to eat in this area, but take my recommendation. This is top class and worthy of a visit.

3 years agoWe had an incredible experience at Agriturismo La Torricella! The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The vineyard view from the property was absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene and picturesque setting. The highlight was definitely the food. The ravioli was cooked to perfection, and the meat and cheese plate paired wonderfully with their outstanding wine selection. It was a true delight for our taste buds. We highly recommend Agriturismo La Torricella for anyone looking for a stunning getaway with fantastic service and delectable cuisine.

a year agoLa Torricella can benefit from a great location, with great views. At that's about it! Unfortunately the staff and service are appalling and the owners too busy (or maybe just don't care??) to even take 15 minutes and speak with someone looking for a wedding location. I have extensive experience in the travel industry and I was shocked by the lack of care.
