Umbria, often referred to as the “Green Heart of Italy,” is a landlocked region in central Italy, bordering Tuscany to the west, Marche to the east, and Lazio to the south. While smaller and less prominent on the international stage than its neighbor Tuscany, Umbria has a rich winemaking history and is gaining increasing recognition for its high-quality, distinctive wines, particularly its indigenous grape varieties.
